The River Valley Workforce Investment Board is located at One Smoketree Office Complex in North Aurora, Illinois and serves an area comprised of Kane, Kendall, and DeKalb Counties. For over 7 years, the Board has provided guidance and oversight of the workforce system, improving quality, providing valuable information, and facilitating.
The joint partnership between the public and private members have allowed us to develop services around the needs of business while enhancing the skills of our workforce.
The River Valley Workforce Investment Board is a key player in the economic growth and competitiveness of the River Valley and surrounding region. Established under a 1998 Federal law called the Workforce Investment Act, the Board has a mandate to create a workforce development system that meets the needs of area employers for qualified workers, and expands the employment opportunities available to area job seekers. As a non-profit corporation, the Board seeks resources beyond the Act to achieve the goals set.
