Kane County Dept. of Employment and Education
(KCDEE) Administers the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Title 1-B services for local workforce investment area 5, comprised of Kane, Kendall and DeKalb Counties. Funding for Title 1-B activities is from the federal government through the Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO).

Title 1-B services are available to eligible adults who have been dislocated from employment or are economically disadvantaged and need assistance in seeking new employment, obtaining new employment or need retraining for upgraded skills enhancement. These services include:

  -  job search assistance
  -  resume writing
  -  specialized training to improve "soft" skills
  -  access to educational programs and occupational training
  -  career assessment and testing
  -  on-the-job and customized training
  -  support services such as child-care and transportation

Illinois Dept. of Commerce and Economic Opportunity
The State`s lead economic development agency provides technical and financial assistance to businesses, local governments, workers and families and administers a wide array of programs and services designed to help Illinois businesses thrive in the global economy, including expansion incentives, technology support services, access to capital, global marketing expertise, and job training and education for workers.  DCEO policy includes a strong emphasis on programs designed to assist small businesses, particularly minority and female entrepreneurs.

List of Certified Training Providers
Illinois` statewide list of WIA-certified training programs. These programs are certified to provide education and training to adults and dislocated workers who have been awarded vouchers under the federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA). The statewide list of WIA-certified training programs includes a variety of classroom, apprenticeship and Internet-based training offered by community colleges, public universities, labor unions, businesses, and other schools.
